Alanis Morissette has split from her fiance. The 'Jagged Little Pill' singer and her 'Smokin' Aces' actor fiance Ryan Reynolds, who were together for five years and got engaged in 2004, announced their split in a joint statement from their representatives Dvora Vener and Meredith O'Sullivan.
The statement said: "Ryan Reynolds and Alanis Morissette have mutually decided to end their engagement. They remain close friends and continue to have the utmost love and admiration for each other. They ask that their privacy be respected surrounding this personal matter." The couple split for a short period in 2006 though they reunited soon after. The Canadian singer and the 'Just Friends' star first met at Drew Barrymore's birthday party in 2002. Though they never set a date for their wedding after getting engaged, Alanis claimed they were "really enjoying" their engagement.
