Drew Barrymore said that she's had enough of romantic comedy movies and wants to star in an 'adult and dramatic' movie.
Drew Barrymore is fed up of starring in romantic comedies. The '
Music and Lyrics' star wants a role in an "adult and dramatic" film because she thinks she plays too many happy characters. Drew said: "I do want to avoid being repetitive and I know I have been. I love romantic comedies. I love happy endings. But I know now that it is time to get in touch with a different side of myself - the one that is mature, adult and dramatic. I do want to be a 'woman' woman rather than a young woman."
The 31-year-old became a child star when she appeared in 'E.T.' aged seven. She went off the rails, smoking marijuana aged nine and taking cocaine aged 12 but said the experience taught her a lot. Drew said: "By 14 I was a has-been. I am so grateful now for all and any jobs I get." And so grateful that I went through that in my life. I honestly truly never take anything for granted."
