The Who are to do their first-ever headline at the Glastonbury fest this year.
The Who are to headline this year's Glastonbury Festival. The legendary rockers will close the world famous music event, which takes place over the weekend of June 22-24. Amazingly, it is the first time the band - who formed around 40 years ago - will have appeared at the festival.

Guitarist Pete Townshend admits it was great telling his 17-year-old son Joseph he and bandmate Roger Daltrey had been asked to perform. Pete said: "It's the coolest thing in the f***ing world! I'm 61 and I can tell my son I'm headlining Glastonbury. I can say to him, 'Come down, bring your friends.' " Other acts confirmed to play Glastonbury this year include the Arctic Monkeys and eccentric Icelandic singer Bjork. Sheffield rockers the Arctic Monkeys are believed to be headlining either the Friday or the Saturday night. The Who's Glastonbury performance will be part of a new European tour, which they announced yesterday (08.02.07).
