Norah Jones thought she was overweight when producers asked her to lose weight for her new movie 'My Blueberry Nights'.
Norah Jones was left shocked when producers of her new movie asked her to
lose weight.
The 'Don't Know Why' singer - who stars in 'My Blueberry Nights' alongside
Jude Law and Natalie Portman - never felt overweight until faced with the
producers' request.
She told Britain's Glamour magazine: "I was asked to lose a few pounds.
First I got really mad, then nervous, thinking, 'Oh no! I'm fat!' "
The 27-year-old - who made an appearance as herself in 2002 comedy 'Two
Weeks Notice' with Hugh Grant and Sandra Bullock - says she now empathises
with Hollywood actresses who are under constant pressure to be thin.
She said: "It was a horrible thing to hear but I understand the game. I was
just amazed that it was really an issue, and it made me have a lot of
sympathy for really skinny actresses. I think they need to eat a
cheeseburger!"
'My Blueberry Nights' hits the screens in June.
