Noel Gallagher mocked Robbie Williams for going into rehab.
Noel Gallagher has mocked Robbie Williams for checking into rehab - branding
him a lightweight.
The Oasis rocker - who along with his bandmates collected the prestigious
Outstanding Contribution To Music award at last night's BRITs (14.02.07) -
thinks it is pathetic Robbie is seeking help for an addiction to
prescription drugs.
Speaking before the ceremony kicked off at London's Earls Court, Noel told
Britain's Heart radio station: "If you take drugs you end up in rehab unless
you're a f***ing rock like me and then you just give them up! We've all been
there, but if you can't stand the heat."
Robbie - who checked himself into The Meadows rehab centre on Tuesday
(13.02.07), his 33rd birthday - has been feuding with Noel and his brother
Liam since 2000, after Noel labelled the 'Angels' singer "the fat dancer
from Take That".
Robbie famously responded by branding the 39-year-old rocker a
"mean-spirited dwarf" and challenging Liam - who is engaged to Robbie's
ex-girlfriend Nicole Appleton - to a prize fight at that year's BRIT Awards.
At the end of last year, Noel claimed Robbie was a sad, lonely recluse and
said he believed his rival would eventually commit suicide because he is a
"grossly unhappy person".
