Mel C Is Ready to Become a Mum, Glad the Becks Move to L.A

Melanie C is ready to settle down and become a mother. The former Spice Girl - the only member of the all-conquering girl band not to have had a baby or be pregnant - can't wait to have a child of her own. She revealed: "I'd really love to be a mum one day."

However, Mel is aware having a baby is a life-changing experience and it is not a commitment she will take lightly. She said: "When you find yourself in that position your freedom goes so I'm weighing it all up. My mum looks forward to having grandchildren."

The singer has been with her property developer boyfriend Tom Starr for five years and she knows he is the one she wants to spend the rest of her life with. She added: "He's my one forever."

Earlier this week, Mel revealed she is glad Victoria Adams is moving to Los Angeles - because it is a great place for her to raise her children. The star hasn't spoken to Victoria for a while, but is happy her former bandmate is relocating to the US in the summer when her husband David Beckham joins the Los Angeles Galaxy soccer team. She said: "It's a really great place to live. There's lots to do, and lots going on. And it's a great place to bring up kids."
