Alicia Silverstone finds satisfaction in going vegan and following a strict healthy diet.
Alicia Silverstone's favourite foods were steak and doughnuts before she became a vegan. The 'Clueless' actress, who follows a strict no meat or dairy diet and is known for her environmentally friendly views, has confessed she loved feasting on calorific treats before changing her lifestyle.
When asked what she ate before becoming a vegan, Alicia told InStyle Home magazine: "Steak and doughnuts. Now I'm a total health nut. I don't get sick very often and when I do it's for a short period. "It's empowering to know that you're responsible for how you feel each day because of the way you treat your body."
As well as eating healthily, the 30-year-old actress keeps fit by jumping on her trampoline. She said: "It's great exercise and really makes you giggle."
Alicia has worked to reduce her carbon footprint by driving a hybrid car, using energy-efficient appliances and light bulbs and has had solar panels installed on the roof of the house she shares with her 36-year old musician husband Christopher Jarecki. She said: "I love living this way. It's so satisfying and inspiring."
