Ioan Gruffudd plans to replace Daniel Craig in the future when he is old enough for the role.
Ioan Gruffudd is desperate to be the next James Bond. The 33-year-old Welsh actor conceded he will have to spend a few more years bulking up his slim physique before he can step into
Daniel Craig's impressive shoes.
He is quoted by Britain's Daily Express newspaper as saying: "I would love to play Bond one day one day but I think I am 10 years too young. Physically, I am not quite big enough. Of course, I could go to the gym! Maybe in seven years' time when Daniel is done and tired of it and can retire a very rich man - then maybe I could step into his shoes."
Ioan - who previously played comic book action hero Reed Richards in '
Fantastic Four' - praised Daniel's debut Bond outing in '
Casino Royale'. He added: "I think he's been absolutely brilliant as James Bond. I thought he was superb. He just nailed it." Daniel's second 007 movie, 'Bond 22', is out next year. Ioan has just finished shooting '
Fantastic Four: Rise of the Silver Surfer'.
