Brittany Murphy has married British director Simon Monjack, it has been confirmed. The actress and Monjack, who began dating last year, tied the knot at their Los Angeles home in front of close family and friends. Brittany's representative said: "They were married at their home in Los Angeles several weeks ago in a very intimate ceremony. It was officiated by a rabbi and they were surrounded by their families."
The 29-year-old 'Sin City' star and Monjack visited Los Angeles' Neil Lane jewellers to pick out Brittany's engagement ring two weeks ago - but ended up taking two home. Lane revealed: "They couldn't decide on one, so they got them both. Simon told me, 'You know, you only live once.' He did it with a lot of love and sentiment. I've never had that happen to me before. It's so romantic." One was a five-carat platinum ring featuring a yellow diamond surrounded by white diamonds, while the other was a six-and-a-half-carat platinum ring with a cushion-cut diamond and diamonds set in the band.
Brittany and Monjack showed off their wedding rings at last weekend's Kentucky Derby. The brunette said: "This was our first trip as a married couple. We came to the Kentucky Derby and had a wonderful time."
Monjack - a writer on 'Factory Girl' - is set to direct 'The White Hotel' starring Brittany. 'The White Hotel' is an adaptation of D.M. Thomas' 1981 novel about psychiatrist Sigmund Freud and an opera singer he treats. Brittany, who previously dated Ashton Kutcher, appears in several movies set for release this year, including 'Sin City 2', 'The Ramen Girl' and 'Tinker Bell'.
