An avid sports fan, Russell Crowe intends to build a stadium in Sydney with actor Anthony LaPaglia to accomodate their teams.
Russell Crowe is in talks to build a new sports stadium in Sydney, Australia. The 'Gladiator' star is the co-owner of National Rugby League team the South Sydney Rabbitohs and is in preliminary talks with 'Without A Trace' star Anthony LaPaglia - who is a director and shareholder in the Sydney FC soccer team - to create a new sports ground in the city.
LaPaglia, 48, is quoted by the USA Today newspaper as saying: "Russell and I have been talking to each other about the possibility of joining forces to achieve this goal. He wants a stadium, I want a stadium, and we think together there is a possibility we might be able to pull it off. We would combine forces to have a home field, and training facilities. We're still trying to work out how to do it exactly, but there's a bunch of e-mails flying backwards and forth."
The two actors have been in talks for around four months about constructing a 25,000-seater stadium which both their respective teams could use.
