Victoria Adams Had Panic Attack Upon Singing was "freaked out" about singing on the new tracks. The 33-year-old, known as Posh Spice in the five-piece girl band which split in 1998, admitted she was terrified about returning to the recording studio.

Victoria - who laid down her vocals at London's Olympic Studios - told Britain's Daily Mirror newspaper: "It's been so many years since I've done any singing it freaked me out. This mic was put in front of me and I was like 'woah'. It was surreal being back in there. I always said I wasn't ever going to sing again and I really didn't expect to. But once I got going it was fun."

Victoria - who launched a short-lived solo career after the group split - added she and her bandmates, Melanie C, Geri Halliwell, , and Melanie Brown were "impressed" with their new material. The mother-of-three added: "The new songs are a progression of the old Spice stuff - nothing radical and still poppy but a bit different. We are all impressed with them."

Mel B is the only Spice Girl left to record her vocals, and she is expected to visit a Los Angeles studio next week. The group have reportedly been offered £5 million each to play six live dates to support the release of their greatest hits album at the end of the year.
