One of London's most anticipated music festivals this year put Kaiser Chiefs as the latest act that proved to be worth it.
The
Kaiser Chiefs closed the O2 Wireless festival in London's Hyde Park in style last night (17.06.07). The band delighted the crowd with their infectious string of hits, starting with 'Every Day I Love You Less and Less' and working exuberantly through a 17-song set.
The main stage crowd had already been impressively warmed up by rising stars
Editors and three-piece outfit The Cribs. Sunday's evening of British-based rock rounded off a successful four days, which began spectacularly with
The White Stripes headlining on Thursday (14.06.07).
Faithless kept up the pace on Friday (15.06.07) creating a deliriously feel good atmosphere with their uplifting brand of old school dance music, including classics such as 'God is a DJ' and 'Insomnia'. Front man Maxi Jazz, who was celebrating his 50th birthday, was in particularly good form as the crowd belted out an impromptu rendition of 'Happy Birthday'. Faithless perfectly rounded off an impressive line-up which included note perfect live performances from
Kelis,
Just Jack and
Mark Ronson on the main stage.
On Saturday (16.06.07),
Daft Punk wowed fans with an incredible light show to accompany their blistering performance. The Paris house musicians stylishly brought to a close an evening which also featured
Klaxons and Brazilian wonders Cansei de Ser Sexy.
