John Travolta thinks that gun is not responsible for massacres like Virginia Tech incident, but he believes that psychiatric drug is.
John Travolta says psychiatric drugs are to blame for tragic high school shootings. The outspoken Scientologist believes "psychotropic" medication "is at the bottom of" the Virginia Tech massacre, the Columbine shootings, and other similar incidents.
Travolta told W magazine: "I still think that if you analyse most of the school shootings, it is not gun control. It is psychotropic drugs at the bottom of it."
However, the 53-year-old actor isn't planning to jump on
Oprah Winfrey's couch to get his message across like fellow Scientologist
Tom Cruise. He said: "I don't disagree with anything Tom says. How would I have presented it? Maybe differently than how he did, but it doesn't matter." Cruise famously declared his love for
Katie Holmes by leaping up and down on Oprah's show.
Travolta recently revealed he flies by private jet to the Church of Scientology headquarters in Clearwater, Florida, five times a week to study the religion. The actor often works through the night on the religion's "auditing" programmes - because they help him lead a better life. He said: "It's a one-on-one programme that's designed to help you handle life."
