Yep, Eddie Murphy Is the Father

DNA test proves it that Eddie Murphy is the biological father of Angel Iris, Melanie Brown's newborn baby.

Eddie Murphy has been confirmed as the father of Melanie Brown's daughter. The Hollywood actor has consistently denied paternity of three-month-old Angel Iris but DNA test results have now proven otherwise.

Former Spice Girl Mel - who was dumped by Eddie while she was pregnant after a whirlwind romance - is relieved the whole saga in finally over. A source close to the singer said: "The DNA is back and the baby is definitely Murphy's. She's now looking forward to moving on with her life with her new baby."

Eddie, who already has five other children, underwent a court-ordered DNA test earlier this month. After leaving the Beverly Hills clinic, the 'Shrek' star vowed to care for Angel Iris if the tests proved she was his child. He insisted he would "do the right thing" when asked if he would support Mel with the baby's upbringing.

After splitting from Mel, Eddie said he wasn't sure he was the father, accusing Mel of sleeping around. He told Dutch TV at the time: "I don't know whose child that is until it comes out and has a test." But Mel - who has another daughter, Phoenix Chi, from her marriage to dancer Jimmy Gulzer - hit back, saying: "It just goes to show how desperate Eddie has got. I may have met another man for entirely innocent purposes, but I was always faithful to Eddie. He is the father of my baby and he knows it."

Eddie, who is now dating movie producer Tracey Edmonds, has not seen Mel or Angel Iris since she was born on April 3 - which is also his birthday.
