A motorcyclist who collided with Bob Geldof's car is said to have a permanent injury on his leg and he blames it on the singer for reckless driving.
The motorcyclist who collided with Sir Bob Geldof's car has suffered a broken leg in two places and a splintered knee joint. Andrew Quinn - who was sent flying after smashing into Bob's silver Lexus in Chelsea, south west London, on Wednesday night (25.07.07) - blames the charity campaigner for his injuries saying he was not paying enough attention.
The 39-year-old is quoted by Britain's The Sun newspaper as saying: "I was riding carefully doing about 25mph. Nothing was coming the other way. Suddenly this car appeared in front of me doing a U-turn. I hit the brakes, but there was no way I could stop. I flew through the air thinking, 'This is going to hurt', and landed directly on my knee. It was agony, despite the fact I was wearing full protective gear. I didn't stand a chance. I'm now facing surgery and injuries that may be with me the rest of my life. And it's all because he didn't pay enough attention when he pulled out."
It was first believed that Andrew, who works for Microsoft, had only suffered minor bruises to his knee and groin, but he was later told by doctors at the Chelsea and Westminster Hospital that his leg may never fully heal. Andrew said: "Doctors said arthritis will set in fairly quickly and my leg will never properly recover. There will be long-term effects like restricted movement and I could have plates and pins put in my knee for the rest of my life."

The Simpsons Movie' with daughters Pixie, 16, and 11-year-old Tiger Lily - insisted no one was to blame for the accident. He said: "This was my first accident but it was f***ing awful - I'm loathe to blame anybody. I commiserate with him because of his injuries. If he thinks it's appropriate, I'd like to drop over and see how he's doing."
The police said they were investigating the incident to decide if any traffic offenses had been committed.
