Michelle Pfeiffer thinks she looks young and beautiful - because she has terrible eyesight. The 49-year-old actress believes people's vision deteriorates as they get older to save them from watching their looks deteriorate.
She quipped: "As you get older, there's a reason why our eyes go bad. It means you can't see what you really look like. I mean, I can barely see anything these days, so I think that I - and everyone else - look pretty good."
Despite being happy with her looks, Pfeiffer was recently told she had an "old and decrepit" body during an interview. The 'Hairspray' actress - who is married to 'Ally McBeal' creator David E. Kelley - explained to Total Film magazine: "The other day I was speaking to some foreign press and one reporter actually said to me, 'So now you have this old and decrepit body,' or something. And I thought, 'OK maybe she just has a heavy accent and I misheard.' So I asked, 'Excuse me, did you just say I have an old and decrepit body?' And she nodded! I don't think she meant it like that but still, old and decrepit. that's still some way off!"
Pfeiffer recently admitted she would consider having plastic surgery if she needed it. She said: "I don't have anything against it and I think there is a lot of pressure on women. It's hard ageing these days. If one day, I look in the mirror and I just can't stand it anymore, than I may be right there."
