Talks are rife on Kelly Osbourne taking the role as matron Mama Morton in the stage production of "Chicago".
Kelly Osbourne is in talks to star in the stage musical 'Chicago'. The 22-year-old singer will reportedly make her West End debut as prison warden Matron Mama Morton in the hit production at London's Cambridge Theater.
A source said: "The word on the street is that Kelly is going to play Mama Morton in Chicago from September. She's been practising like mad." Kelly's spokesperson confirmed the star was in talks, but insisted "nothing has been signed yet". The spokesperson added: "It all depends on timing because there might be a film in the pipeline too."
If Kelly - who had a guest-starring role in hit US show 'Life As We Know It' - takes the part she will follow in the footsteps of a host of celebrities to appear in the long-running show. Last year,
Ashlee Simpson triumphed in her role as the sexy murderess Roxie Hart in the London production of 'Chicago'.
Usher and
David Hasselhoff have both played lawyer Billy Flynn – portrayed by
Richard Gere in the Oscar-winning film - on stage.
