Jesse Metcalfe to Follow James Blunt's Success

Jesse Metcalfe has bragged he is set to be the new James Blunt, it has been reported. The 'Desperate Housewives' star is confident his debut album will soon be topping charts all over the world.

Jesse, 28, is quoted as saying: "People are going to be shocked by my first album. It is going to reveal my unseen mature side and I've even co-written some of the songs. I think I could be the next James Blunt."

Jesse's ex-girlfriend Nadine Coyle, who is in British band Girls Aloud, is said to be furious with the actor's plans for pop stardom. A source said: "Nadine has made no secret of the fact that she wants to relocate to America as her family are already there. She is now worried his singing career could have a negative effect on her own musical credibility when she moves Stateside."

The pair split after almost a year together following allegations that Jesse had cheated on Nadine shortly after leaving rehab.
