Sir Paul McCartney and his estranged wife Heather Mills are reportedly on a "bonding" holiday in the US. The Beatles legend - who split from Heather in May 2006 following a four-year marriage - allegedly flew to the Hamptons last week for the secret family holiday for the sake of their three-year-old daughter Beatrice.
Heather, 39, who was seen working out at an East Hampton gym on Tuesday (07.08.07), has visited Paul's Long Island property several times. A source said: "It won't be a conventional family holiday - there is still tension."
Although Paul and Heather are keen to put on a united front for Beatrice in private, sources claim they don't want to be seen in public together. One told the New York Daily News newspaper: "We were expecting Paul at our club last weekend, although he didn't show. But we were specifically keeping Heather off the guest list in case he came. There is no way those two can be in the same place in public."
Last month, it was claimed Paul, 65, will give Heather £70 million in their divorce settlement. He has reportedly agreed to give the former model a lump sum of £15 million, along with a further £3.5 million every year until Beatrice turns 18.
Paul is set to pay for Beatrice's schooling, travel, security and nannies and the pair will share custody of their daughter. The divorce deal is also said to include a clause banning the pair from speaking publicly about the breakdown of their marriage.
