Matt Damon admitted his English accent was not good enough for a chance of doing Bond during a short interview at the London premiere of The Bourne Ultimatum.
Matt Damon braved torrential rain to meet fans at the London premiere of '
The Bourne Ultimatum' last night (15.08.07). The 36-year-old actor - who has reprised his role as former CIA assassin Jason Bourne in the third instalment of the action series - spent an hour signing autographs outside the Odeon cinema, in Leicester Square.
Damon - who was accompanied by his wife Luciana - ruled out ever playing suave British spy James Bond, despite similarities with his character. He told BANG Showbiz: "My English accent is crap, so there is no chance of me doing Bond."
The star also hinted that 'The Bourne Ultimatum' would not be the final movie in the series. He added: "If Paul Greengrass wanted to direct another one, then maybe we will."
Damon was joined on the red carpet by his co-star
Julia Stiles - who plays agent Nicky Parsons in the movie - who wowed drenched onlookers in a royal blue Zac Posen dress.
Other guests included
Kimberly Stewart, 60s supermodel Twiggy, British TV presenter Lisa Snowdon and
Razorlight frontman Johnny Borrell, who arrived without girlfriend
Kirsten Dunst. Pop superstar
Prince avoided paparazzi by forgoing the red carpet and instead snuck through a side entrance of the cinema with his twin backing dancers, Twinz.
