Nelly Furtado has been confirmed to perform at the MTV Video Music Awards. The Canadian singer, Gym Class Heroes and rapper Common have joined the impressive line-up for the Las Vegas ceremony on September 9.
Other artists already announced to perform at the Palms Hotel and Casino include Timbaland, Kanye West, Fall Out Boy, Chris Brown, Amy Winehouse, the Foo Fighters and Rihanna. Lil Wayne, T-Pain, Cee-Lo and Daniel Merriweather have also been added to the line-up.
Superstar producer, Timbaland, is the "official maestro" of the ceremony, and will be responsible for creating several "show-stopping and unexpected artist collaborations", MTV revealed on Monday (20.08.07). Britney Spears is also said to be working on a surprise performance with magician Criss Angel for the 24th annual VMAs.
'Promiscuous' singer Furtado has been nominated for Female Artist of the Year, along with Stacy Ferguson, Amy Winehouse, Beyonce Knowles and Rihanna. Gym Class Heroes are up for Best Group and Best New Artist. Presenters and additional performers will be announced at a later date.
