Richard Gere refused a butt double for his latest movie, insisting on flashing his own derriere. The 'Pretty Woman' star - who turns 58 next Friday (31.08.07) - had to strip naked on an airport runway while aeroplanes circled overhead in a scene for his new film 'The Hunting Party'.
Director Richard Shepard told US TV show 'Extra': "We had a butt double standing by but it wasn't needed. It didn't take a lot to persuade Richard to get his own rear out." In the movie, Gere plays a has-been war correspondent who leads his former protégé - played by Terrence Howard - on a search for Bosnia's most wanted war criminal.
The 'An Officer and a Gentleman' star recently revealed a jar of worms inspired him to become a Buddhist. Gere recalled: "When I was a kid I used to go fishing. I'd go out early in the morning and catch worms for bait. All the worms would be in there so intertwined with each other that you couldn't even pull them apart. That's how I see the lives of all of us on this planet."
