Snoop Dogg promises to take "off the chain" after selected to be the host of this year's Europe Music Awards in Germany.
Snoop Dogg is to host this year's MTV Europe Music Awards in Germany. The rapper will take charge of proceedings at the lavish ceremony at Munich's OlympiaHalle on November 1, and admits he was "thrilled" to be asked.
Snoop said: "I've called up the homeys from east to west and I guarantee it's going to be off the chain, you dig?"
The
Foo Fighters and
Mika are the first two acts confirmed to be performing. MTV viewers can vote for the bands and artists they would like to see on this year's shortlist of nominees. This year will also see the introduction of a new category New Sounds of Europe for fans to nominate the ultimate breakthrough act from the entire 19 EU countries.
Meanwhile, Snoop has revealed his new album is inspired by
Amy Winehouse. He said: "When I'm listening to it, I'm learning who she is. It's like when you listen to
James Brown, he did it by himself, and Curtis Mayfield, all by himself." The hotly-anticipated LP is expected to be out by the end of the year.
