In 'Broken', Heather Graham will play a musician trying to find destiny in big city that is why she has to learn singing and strumming guitar.
Heather Graham became a guitar-playing rock chick for her latest movie. The 'Boogie Nights' actress sings and plays a six-string on 'The Hanging Tree', a song which features in her upcoming film 'Broken'.
The 37-year-old actress learned to play the guitar for her role as aspiring musician Hope, who moves to Hollywood in search of success but ends up working the overnight shift at a diner. Graham also stars in the video for the track, showing off her new guitar skills.
'Broken' sees Graham perform 'The Hanging Tree', which was written by actor Keram Malicki-Sanchez, live to camera. The song reflects the hard-hitting subject of the independent film, which follows Graham's character as she sinks into heroin addiction with her boyfriend Will, played by Jeremy Sisto.
It is not the first time Graham has had to sing for a movie. For '
Gray Matters', released earlier this year, she got the chance to perform the hit 'I Will Survive' with legendary performer
Gloria Gaynor and co-star
Bridget Moynahan.
'Broken', directed by Australian Alan White, premieres next month.
