Jodie Foster Unleashing the Monster Inside Her

Jodie Foster Unleashing the Monster Inside Her has a raging monster inside of her. The 'Panic Room' star claims there is a different side to her calm personality which is "filled with rage and fear" and could emerge at any moment.

She said: "For a while I've wanted to tell a story that, inside you, there's this stranger filled with rage and fear, and it's been there all along. And one event can bring that out. I don't one hundred percent understand why, but I'm not scared by that kind of darkness."

Foster explores this idea in upcoming film '', in which she plays a talk show host who is savagely mugged and witnesses her fiancé's fatal beating before picking up a gun and setting out for revenge.

The 44-year-old actress has previously starred in several films exploring violent and disturbing subjects - including 'Taxi Driver' and 'Silence of the Lambs' - and the 'The Brave One' director Neil Jordan also believes Foster has a dark side to her personality. He said: "I've been making movies for more than 25 years and I've never met an actor who has a dark side like Jodie - and who is so unafraid to explore it."

Foster's co-star Terrence Howard admits he finds the actress' dark side intimidating. He said: "I was scared to death when I met her. In 'Taxi Driver', she was a 13-year-old who made nervous. You look at her and you know she could light up a room or burn down the house."

'The Brave One' is set to be released later this month.
