Kid Rock claims his fight with Tommy Lee at the MTV Video Music Awards on Sunday (09.09.07) was the culmination of a five-year feud between the pair. The two former husbands of ‘Baywatch’ beauty Pamela Anderson came to blows at the Las Vegas ceremony after Lee muttered something to Rock as he walked past his table.
Rock insists something was almost certain to happen between the pair eventually because of how Lee has treated him in the past. He said: "I did what any man would do, any man across the country, across the world would do. It kills me just to be associated with, to have my name in a sentence with him, it honestly destroys me. It was unavoidable. I had to do what I had to do because this was a long time coming. You know, I came back from the bathroom and he was sitting right there. It was even more disrespectful after everything he's said, I was like that's enough, that's it."
Rock claims Lee – who has two children, Brandon, 11, and nine-year-old Dylan, with Pammie – taunted him while Rock was going through his divorce from the busty blonde. He said: "Last contact I had with him was when me and Pamela were going through our divorce. He picked up her Blackberry and started e-mailing me a lot of horrendous things. It was extremely disrespectful. I calmly told him, ‘Listen, I will see you again…’ and that was the end of it, because I don't talk, you know."
Meanwhile, LL Cool J wants the feuding rockers to fight out their issues in a pay-per-view fight. He said: "I'm not sure who'd win in a fight between Tommy Lee and Kid Rock. You know what we should do? Let's pay-per-view the thing, I'll even front the money."
