Marilyn Manson came up to director Julie Taymor asking whether there's a slot for him in the musical adaptation of 'Spider-Man'.
Marilyn Manson is desperate for a part in 'Spider-Man: The Musical'. The Goth rocker is a huge fan of the webslinging superhero and has begged the director for a role in the upcoming Broadway show.
Director Julie Taymor - who is developing the musical with
U2 rockers
Bono and
The Edge - said: "Marilyn just asked me if he could have a part in 'Spider-Man'. The funny thing is, he really liked the music on my new movie."
Marilyn, 38, and his 20-year-old girlfriend
Evan Rachel Wood attended the premier of Taymor's new musical film 'Across the Universe' - which has a soundtrack featuring 33 Beatles songs. The rock star approached Taymor at an after-screening dinner at New York's Bette restaurant and asked about appearing in the 'Spider-Man' project.
'Across the Universe' includes cameos from British comedian Eddie Izzard, singer
Joe Cocker and Bono, who plays a hippy. Bono said: "For my first acting role, I thought this would be interesting and a little bit special."
