Will Ferrell is offering fans a chance to appear on his new film 'Step Brothers' with a bid starting from $5,000 that will eventually go to Cancer for College.
Will Ferrell is auctioning off a role in his next movie for charity. The comic actor is offering fans the chance to bid to appear in '
Step Brothers', with all proceeds from the winning bid going to his friend Craig Pollard's Cancer for College foundation.
He said: "What a perfect Christmas present for your son or daughter. It is the surefire way to win the parent of the year award. Support this amazing cause, by buying them me."
The opening bid for the chance to appear in the movie is $5,000, and the auction will close on September 26. The lucky winner will be announced on September 27, and will meet Ferrell the following day at the 14th annual Cancer for College golf tournament dinner at Temecula Creek Inn in southern California. They will then join him on the set of 'Step Brothers' in October and film their scenes.
'Step Brothers' also stars 'Gangs of New York' actor John C. Reilly as Ferrell's stepbrother. The film sees the two characters battle for attention when their respective single parents marry each other.
Ferrell has been close friends with Pollard ever since the pair attended the University of Southern California together. Pollard has twice survived Hodgkin's disease, and started Cancer for College in 1993 to provide college scholarships to current and former cancer patients.
