Foo Fighters' frontman Dave Grohl said that Queens of the Stone Age is the best band he has ever played with.
Dave Grohl claims
Queens of the Stone Age are the best band he's ever played in. In an apparent snub to his
Foo Fighters bandmates, the rocker insists the band - fronted by Josh Homme - are "without question" the greatest he has been involved with.
Grohl - who was also the drummer in legendary grunge band
Nirvana – said: "Queens of the Stone Age are the best band I have ever been in - without question. I usually get nervous when I go on stage, but when I was in Queens of the Stone Age I never got nervous, because I knew the people in the crowd were about to witness the best thing they had ever seen live. I felt like that every single night I played with them. It's like the best lover you've ever had in your life - you don't have to talk about it, you just do it."
Grohl made his surprising statement during his Radio 1 'Legends' show, which are part of the British station's 40th birthday celebrations. Other music stars set to host a show include
Blondie singer Debbie Harry,
Oasis guitarist Noel Gallagher,
Gwen Stefani and Ozzy Obsbourne.
