Dave Grohl claims Queens of the Stone Age are the best band he's ever played in. In an apparent snub to his Foo Fighters bandmates, the rocker insists the band - fronted by Josh Homme - are "without question" the greatest he has been involved with.
Grohl - who was also the drummer in legendary grunge band Nirvana – said: "Queens of the Stone Age are the best band I have ever been in - without question. I usually get nervous when I go on stage, but when I was in Queens of the Stone Age I never got nervous, because I knew the people in the crowd were about to witness the best thing they had ever seen live. I felt like that every single night I played with them. It's like the best lover you've ever had in your life - you don't have to talk about it, you just do it."
Grohl made his surprising statement during his Radio 1 'Legends' show, which are part of the British station's 40th birthday celebrations. Other music stars set to host a show include Blondie singer Debbie Harry, Oasis guitarist Noel Gallagher, Gwen Stefani and Ozzy Obsbourne.
