Natasha Bedingfield scooped Best Pop Act at the BT Digital Music Awards on Tuesday night (02.10.07). The singer trumped Lil' Chris, Mika, Simon Webbe and The Hoosiers to claim the accolade after performing her new single 'Say It Again' at the glitzy London ceremony at Camden's Roundhouse.
Earlier in the evening, host BBC Radio 1 DJ Sara Cox joked about Natasha's clean cut image. She said: "I'm hoping for some rock'n'roll antics from the crowd possibly. Especially that Natasha Bedingfield, she is a right crazy one! It should be good. I'm looking forward to it."
Sara - who is expecting her second child - refused to reveal anything more about the pregnancy, saying it was "naff" to discuss possible names at the awards ceremony.
Other winners on the night included Muse who took Best Rock/Indie Artist, Lemar who won Best Urban Artist, and Funeral for a Friend, who claimed the prestigious Artist of the Year prize. The Chemical Brothers saw off stiff competition from Calvin Harris and Just Jack to be named Best Electronic Artist or DJ.
Guests were treated to performances from The Rakes, Mutya Buena, The Hoosiers, Newton Faulkner and Amy Macdonald. The audience included 'Big Brother' twins Sam and Amanda, their fellow contestant Charley - who was horrified to discover she was wearing the same dress as Sam - and previous reality TV stars Chantelle Houghton and Nikki Grahame.
The evening featured 19 awards in total, with seven winners picked by a judging panel, nine chosen through a combination of fans' votes and judges' scores and three people's choice awards.
