In his new movie, Jake Gyllenhaal will be one of the first few people to build a civilization on the moon.
Jake Gyllenhaal is set to travel to the moon. The 26-year-old star will don a spaceman's outfit and take part in a lunar expedition for his latest Hollywood blockbuster.
The space adventure will see the '
Zodiac' star join a group of pioneers who are determined to become the first people to build a colony on the moon. The movie will be directed by '
Mr and Mrs Smith' filmmaker Doug Liman and is yet to be given a title.
The script was originally penned by Liman with the help of '
Along Came Polly' director John Hamburg, but it will now be rewritten by 'Black Hawk Down' scribe Mark Bowden.
Meanwhile, Gyllenhaal has also signed up to appear in '
Brothers' opposite
Tobey Maguire and
Natalie Portman. 'Brothers' is based on an award-winning 2004 Danish film of the same name in which a young man comforts his older brother's wife and children after he goes missing in Afghanistan. The film will be directed by '
Get Rich or Die Tryin'' filmmaker Jim Sheridan. Shooting is expected to begin next month.
