Will Smith is to turn his hit film '
Hitch' into a TV series. The 'Men In Black' star - who played a professional date doctor in the 2005 romantic comedy - will be executive producer of the show, but will not star in it himself.
The project - which is backed by Smith's production company Overbrook Entertainment - is currently being pitched to several TV networks.
Meanwhile, Smith's publicist, Heidi Schaeffer, has rubbished rumors he is to direct a remake of hit 80s movie 'The Karate Kid', starring his son Jayden and
Jackie Chan playing karate guru Mr. Miyagi. Shaeffer said: "He is certainly not. I don't know where that came from."
Smith recently signed up to star as the owner of a global media conglomerate in new movie '
Empire'. The drama will be directed by Michael Mann, who helmed 2001's 'Ali', for which Smith earned an Oscar nomination starring as boxing legend Mohammed Ali.
