Blondie's singer Debbie Harry is now considering to adopt a disadvantaged child now that she's too old to conceive.
Debbie Harry wants to adopt. The 62-year-old
Blondie singer is now too old to have children naturally, but is considering following in the footsteps of other stars, including
Angelina Jolie and
Madonna, and opening her home to a disadvantaged child.
She said: "Adoption is something I've always considered, but I'd like to be a little bit more of a homebody first. Sometimes I regret not having children, but sometimes I'm glad. I suppose there will come a time when I really regret it, but I don't know if I was especially well suited to motherhood anyway."
Debbie - who was famous for her colorful love life in her pop heyday - also insists she isn't interested in settling down with a man because she enjoys her independence. She added to Culture magazine: "Marriage is just a business arrangement really. I was in love millions of times in my youth - or at least twice - and I always felt that being independent was really important for me, and somehow the two didn't meet. "
