Led Zeppelin's guitarist Jimmy Page is almost sure that the reunited band will come up with a new album eventually.
Jimmy Page says
Led Zeppelin are set to release their first new album in 28 years. The 63-year-old guitarist would be "very surprised" if the legendary band don't follow up next month's one-off London concert - their first live performance together in 19 years - with new material.
Page said: "I would be really surprised if there wasn't a new album around the corner. I just know the way we were. We're musicians, as we're playing we'll probably come up with all manner of things. And that will be fun. I mean, that's what it's all about."
Led Zeppelin's last album of new material was 'In Through the Out Door', released in 1979. Page, lead singer Robert Plant and bassist John Paul Jones are reuniting for a charity tribute to late Atlantic Records boss Ahmet Ertegun at London's O2 arena on November 26.
Jones, 61, is confident fans will not be left disappointed by their performance. He said: "In rehearsals it sounded like we've played these songs every night for the last three weeks. If that's the starting point, this is going to be a really great concert."
Led Zeppelin formed in 1968 and went on to sell more than 300 million records worldwide, spawning classic hits such as 'Stairway to Heaven', 'Whole Lotta Love' and 'Kashmir'.
The group split in 1980 following the death of drummer John Bonham, who died of asphyxiation from his own vomit. When the reunion concert was announced in September, the ticket website crashed several times as millions of fans scrambled for tickets.
