Michelle Pfeiffer is set to appear in a remake of 'Grease'. The 'Stardust' actress, who starred in the 1982 sequel 'Grease 2', has been approached to join the cast for a new version of the original 1978 hit musical and has her heart set on playing an older character.
Michelle said: "It's a great idea and I hear they would like to get Jessica Simpson for the role of Sandy, she would be good. I would love to play the school principal. She is fun and has some great put-down lines. I think I would like the part now that I have been asked."
Michelle regretted taking the part of Stephanie Zinone in 'Grease 2' and believes it set her career back 10 years. The 'Hairspray' star is quoted by a British newspaper as saying: "I hated that film with a vengeance and could not believe how bad it was. At the time I was young and didn't know any better. I hear it's a cult movie now."
Earlier this year, Michelle revealed she can't bear to watch her own movies because they make her cringe. The 49-year-old actress said: "I don't sit at home and watch my movies. I cannot bear it when I'm channel surfing and there I am, suddenly popping up. It's very rare that I can stand it for very long, although when my kids were watching 'Married To The Mob' recently I was able to watch it for 15 to 20 minutes and I was OK."
