Paul McCartney is a Stingy Beatle

Heather Mills, the former wife of Paul McCartney, stated that The Beatles' member could maintain to be rich because he is reluctant to use his wealth.

Sir Paul McCartney is only rich because he is mean, says estranged wife Heather Mills. The former model, who is currently embroiled in a bitter divorce battle with The Beatles legend, claims Paul is reluctant to use his estimated 825 million pounds fortune to help protect her and their four-year-old daughter Beatrice.

Heather told Hello! magazine: "This is a man that hangs on to his money. He wouldn't be as rich if he didn't. Who needs that kind of money? I'm still keeping quiet about the total truth, giving him a chance to help us move on and get out of this awful situation. When I left, I said, 'I don't want a penny, all I want is for you to protect me.' He knows I was suicidal and he did nothing. Enough is enough. He has forced me into a corner."

Heather - who insists she offered to sign a pre-nuptial agreement but Paul refused because it wasn't "romantic" - also claims Paul will only agree to a divorce settlement if she remains silent about their relationship. She said: "I want the freedom to be able to tell my story should I need to defend myself. I offered to Paul that if he protects me from the inevitable hatred I'll receive because I am the wife of a Beatle, I'll never say anything derogatory about him. He wants me to be gagged and they won't give me a divorce until I'm gagged. So I'm waiting for our two-year separation. I've been this dormant volcano for 18 months and now I've had the explosion of my feelings."

Heather appeared on several UK and US TV shows last week where she blamed Paul for the breakdown of their marriage, branded Paul's daughter Stella "evil" and likened herself to the late Princess Diana.
