Lindsay Lohan to Play in 'Ugly Betty'

Lindsay Lohan is set to star in 'Ugly Betty'. The 'Mean Girls' actress is in talks with producers of the hit US TV show to play a fallen beauty queen who ends up working as an assistant manager of a fast food restaurant. She will be rescued by the show's main character Betty Suarez, who tries to get her a job at Mode magazine, where she is an editorial assistant. A source said: "Betty tries to help Lindsay's character by getting her a job at Mode, the fashion magazine where she works on the show."

Lindsay will not be the first celebrity to make a guest appearance on the show. Victoria Adams stars as herself in an upcoming episode, while Lucy Liu appeared in two shows in the first series.

Lindsay recently vowed to stay away from Hollywood to avoid temptation and stay sober. The 21-year-old actress, who was released from Utah's Cirque Lodge treatment center last month after a two-month stay, said: "I'm staying in Utah until it's time to shoot 'Dare to Love Me', and then I plan on returning to Utah so I can stay focused and avoid other distractions. Temptation is always there, but now I'll avoid it the right way."
