Britney Spears is suffering from a mental illness, her friends have claimed. The troubled star - who recently lost custody of sons Sean Preston, two, and 13-month-old Jayden James to ex-husband Kevin Federline - has stunned the world with her recent erratic behavior with many people claiming her actions are drug related.
However, pals of the 'Gimme More' singer insist she has many psychological issues, including postpartum depression - the medical term for postnatal depression. One friend told US Weekly magazine: "It's not substance abuse - it's mental! Postpartum has always been a problem after giving birth to Sean and Jayden."
In the past year, Britney has seen her second marriage fall apart, and shock the showbiz world with increasingly more bizarre antics, including flashing her genitalia and shaving her head. Despite her friends saying she is not on drugs, it was recently alleged she let a stranger snort cocaine off her chest during a wild night of partying.
The 25-year-old singer invited guitarist Scott Kohler and ten other revelers back to her Hollywood mansion - just two days after she lost visiting rights to her sons. He alleged one male member of the party offered Britney cocaine and "joked he wanted to do a line off her chest, and she agreed."
