Lindsay Lohan Spent Little Time Behind Bars Lindsay Lohan spent a fraction of her Thursday (15.11.07) morning behind bars. Evidently, the 'Just My Luck' star, who checked herself in to the women's detention center in Lynwood, Los Angeles at 10:30 a.m., was serving her remaining mandatory jail sentence. She was released exactly 84 minutes later, at 11:54 a.m.

The sheriff's spokesman Steve Whitmore explained that in the correctional institution, the troubled starlet was searched and fingerprinted before being placed in a cell. Despite the standard procedure, Lohan was allowed to use her own clothes during her time there. Regarding her short time in lockup, Whitmore said that Lohan's offense was not considered as violent and she was in the criteria of overcrowding the jail.

Last August, Lohan was convicted for drunk-driving and drugs possession after she was arrested twice, first in May for crashing her car and second, in July for a car chase incident with her former personal assistant's mother. She was initially sentenced to spend four days in jail. Still, considering that she had been spending 24 hours in jail and pleaded to do 10 days of community service in lieu of two days in jail, her sentence was reduced to a day which she should serve before January. Aside from serving time in jail and performing community service, she was also put on three years probation and 18 months alcohol-education program.

Following her July's arrest, Lohan checked herself for the second time to rehab and stayed there for about two months. Then, on Monday (12.11.07), Lohan has begun her ten days community service sentence at the American Red Cross blood-services facility in Los Angeles.

Lohan became the second celebrity after Joel Madden's girlfriend, Nicole Richie, who spent under two hours in jail. However, unlike Lohan who has to spend her time behind bars, the latter actress served only 82 minutes of her four-day sentence in custody. The 'Simple Life' star, who was arrested for the second time on December 11, 2006 under DUI charges, wasn't admitted to jail under the same ground as Lohan's releasing reason.
