Seeing Amy Winehouse's physical appearance when visiting him last week, Blake Fielder-Civil reportedly asked his wife to start eating properly and beat her bulimia.
Amy Winehouse's husband has begged her to beat bulimia before it kills her. The singer's husband Blake Fielder-Civil, who was arrested and imprisoned earlier this month, was shocked by Amy's gaunt appearance when she visited him in jail last week.
Blake reportedly told her: "I am really concerned about you. You are far too thin. For the first time in months I have been eating three square meals a day. I feel so much better. But you are taking drugs, not eating and now you are fainting. You have to start eating properly. Bulimia is taking a terrible toll on
you."
Last year, Amy insisted she had beaten the eating disorder and was gaining weight. However, Blake - who is accused of GBH (grievous bodily harm) and conspiracy to pervert the course of justice - is worried she hasn't been looking after herself since he went to jail.
One of Blake's friends told Britain's News of the World newspaper: "Blake has grown stronger in prison and has been able to re-evaluate his life. But Amy has got weaker without him. She is living off drink and drugs. Blake is aware of how she is behaving. He phones her everyday and begs her to be
stronger."
Meanwhile, Amy was in Newcastle at the weekend to continue her UK tour. Despite arriving 40 minutes late, she still impressed fans with a far more convincing performance than her Birmingham concert last week. The 24-year-old singer dedicated 'Back to Black' to Blake and also performed
a version of The Zutons' hit 'Valerie'.
Last week, Amy appeared drunk as she took to the stage and tearfully paid tribute to Blake. When the crowd began booing, she screamed: "Let me tell you something. First of all, if you're booing you're a mug for buying a ticket. Second to all the people booing - just wait 'til my husband gets out."
