On Tuesday morning (20.11.07), Fred Ross, Diana Ross' father, passed away at the age of 87 in his Detroit home.
Diana Ross' father has died. Fred Ross died peacefully at his Detroit home in the early hours of Tuesday morning (20.11.07) aged 87. Diana, 63, said: "He touched many lives and he will be truly missed. I love him very much."
The 'Baby Love' singer announced her father's death to the sell-out audience at her Los Angeles concert on Tuesday night, where she dedicated her encore song, 'I Love You' to her late father. Diana canceled the concert after-party and flew home to Detroit with her youngest brother, Wilbert 'Chico' Ross, to be with the rest of her family.
Diana is the second of six children born to Baptist Fred and his wife Ernestine. The singer attended the same high school as Fred, Detroit's Cass Technical High School. Diana has five children of her own.
