After months refusing to give comments about Britney Spears' disastrous performance in 2007 MTV Video Music Awards, Criss Angel finally has something to say for her. In Las Vegas, during the Planet Hollywood resort and casino grand opening, he revealed that he was actually supposed to join the 'Gimme More' singer on stage that night, but the troubled pop star changed her mind.
In the interview with Hollyscoop.com, the 'Mind Freak' illusionist commented reluctantly about Britney's most-awaited comeback performance, "I don't...I don't...I wont comment on her performance. I was supposed to be involved...She decided to go a different...a route, which I completely respected. And, I only wish Britney Spears the very very best. And a...that's all I've to say." When further asked about his relationship with Britney, he then added that he will be there for her because he is her friend, and if she ever needs help, all that she needs to do is call him.
Last August, Criss has stated that he was helping Britney for her performance in the Awards, but mistakenly rumored to be romancing the troubled pop star after they were spotted spending night together in Sunset Hotel. That time, he told People magazine, "It's amazing what people think. We're not together. Her manager is my manager, and I'm helping her with one of her shows. I'm helping with her appearance on MTV."
