Praised for her exceptional performance in 'A Mighty Heart', Angelina Jolie gathers another award nomination. On Tuesday (27.11.07), the Oscar winning actress was announced by Zach Braff and Lisa Kudrow as one of the Spirit Award nominees. She is nominated for Best Female Lead for her role in the adaptation movie.
After the announcement, the award giver, Dawn Hudson of Film Independent, praised the Hollywood's star by saying, "She could make any film she wants. It's a feat for such a movie star to be so much in that role."
Though Jolie has won many notable awards throughout her career, including Oscar and Golden Globe in 2000 for her performance in 'Girl, Interrupted', this is the first time Jolie is nominated for the Spirit Award.
'A Mighty Heart' is a movie based on Mariane Pearl's memoir, co-produced by Jolie's long-term partner, Brad Pitt. It tells the story about the search for the Wall Street Journal journalist, Daniel Pearl, who was kidnapped and eventually beheaded in Karachi in 2002.
