Though she has only complete half of her 2007 U.K. tour performances, Amy Winehouse decided to cancel all the remaining gigs since she couldn't perform without her husband.
Amy Winehouse has canceled all her remaining performances in 2007. According to the statement released by Live Nation, the concert promoter, the decision was taken because Winehouse was under emotional stress the past few weeks and her demanding schedules have taken its toll.
Further, it was explained that the troubled singer was ordered to rest and deal with her health concern. A spokeswoman for the company also added that since plans on rescheduling the concert haven't been issued, fans should get their refund from the place where they buy the tickets.
Reportedly, the British star claimed that she couldn't work without her husband, who is in jail with the charge of perverting justice. In a statement, she stated, "I can't give it my all on stage without my Blake. I'm so sorry but I don't want to do the shows half-heartedly. I love singing. My husband is everything to me and without him it's just not the same."
Following the news about the tour cancellation, TimesOnline reported that Winehouse's mother was relief with the decision. Janis Winehouse said, "Amy's got to take the opportunity of getting herself fitter and stronger. She thinks she's strong but she isn't. I hope she uses the chance to fully recover. I hope she will take it easy for a while and then get back to writing new material. She has got to get herself clean. It is a matter of her personal survival."
However, at the same time, Winehouse's fans gave different reaction to the news. Many of them were left disappointed by the sudden cancellation, especially those who were on their way last night (27.11.07) to Bournemouth International Center for Winehouse's scheduled gig. A fan from Dorchester said: "The tickets had all sold out really quickly so I bought ours on eBay for 70 pounds each and I doubt I can get a refund. It's not really a surprise that she has cancelled but I have driven an hour and a half to get here and I don't think they gave us enough notice."
Another fan, a teacher from Poole, Jill Thompson said: "I'm so disappointed. I've been looking forward to this concert for weeks. I'm worried about her because she is such a talent at such a young age. She's a genius really. It's not enough notice, though, to cancel a concert - only two hours, which wasn't really adequate because I have already made arrangements."
