Sticking to her own unique style proved to give Rihanna another title on her rising career, that is the Seventeen Magazine's Style Star on December/January issue.
Rihanna is named as the first Seventeen magazine's 'Style Star' as she grazed the cover of the magazine's December/January issue. Gina Kelly, the fashion director of Seventeen who helped pick the 'Style Stars', commented about the 'Umbrella' singer, "I love her because she's not like anyone else out there. It starts with her haircut. When she started out, it was long and pretty, but when she got the asymmetrical bob, she just started to break out - and then she got a cool new wardrobe to match her cool new hair."
About having her own style, the R 'n' B singer revealed that she loves experimenting with fashion. She said, "Well, I love playing with fashion. I'm very spontaneous - the best outfits from me come from not thinking about it. When I was growing up in Barbados, I actually learned about fashion from reading magazines and tearing out stuff that I thought was hot."
Aside from Rihanna, many other celebrities, including
Vanessa Hudgens,
Jessica Alba,
Jordin Sparks,
Stacy Ferguson,
Lauren Conrad, Ashley Simpson and
Lil Mama are also chosen to be the magazine's
'Style Stars'. Kelly stated that all the people the magazine chose have their own style, like Lil Mama who dressed according to her age, shed little skin, and appeared a bit tomboy, but can also look girlie.
