Music industry once again mourned for the lost of another artist. Around 9 a.m. on Tuesday (04.12.07), Chad 'Pimp C' Butler has been found dead in a room at the Mondrian Hotel in West Hollywood, Los Angeles. The body of the 33-year-old rapper was discovered after his family called the hotel to find him. Allegedly, Pimp C checked into the hotel last Wednesday (28.11.07) and was supposed to have check out on Monday (04.12.07).
To AllHipHop.com, the hotel spokesman, Gerald McKelvy, remarked the discovering saying, "Security personnel went to Mr. Butler's room and found him in bed, apparently expired. A 911 call was placed at about 9:20 AM and paramedics from the Los Angeles Fire Department responded and pronounced Mr. Butler dead."
Though the cause of his death has not been announced, it was reported that the member of Houston rap duo, UGK (Underground Kingz), might have died of natural cause. To TMZ.com, Captain Ed Winter from the L.A. County Coroner uttered, "We're told no drug paraphernalia or other drugs were found in the room. The rapper, we've learned, was found fully clothed on top of the bed. He did not seem to have fallen or injured himself and he was positioned on his side." He also eliminated the possibility of murder by saying that it seems that no one had enter the father of three's room at the time of his death.
Regarding his artist shocking death, the president and CEO of Jive Records, Barry Weiss sent his condolences stating, "We mourn the unexpected loss of Chad. He was truly a thoughtful and kind-hearted person. He will be remembered for his talent and profound influence as a pioneer in bringing southern rap to the forefront. He will be missed and our prayers remain with his family and Bun B. I've known Chad since he was 18, and we loved him dearly and he was a cherished member of the Jive family."
