Having booked herself on Wednesday (05.12.07) following the judge's order on December 3, Vivica A. Fox was spared from jail sentence. On Friday (07.12.07), the 'Independence Day' star pleaded no contest to her DUI charges.
According to the spokesman for L.A. City Attorney, Frank Mateljan, the Hollywood actress was sentenced to three years probation and 90-day alcohol education program. She was also fined more than 400 dollars, but freed from her DUI charged as the result of her plea deal.
In June approximately three months after she was charged with misdemeanor count of driving under the influence, Fox expressed her remorse regarding the incident. That time, she told reporters, " I won't ever make that mistake again. Trust me, I'm going to hire a driver next time."
On the other Hollywood's DUI cases, Kiefer Sutherland and Gary Collins weren't as lucky as Fox. Though pleading no contest to their DUI charges, the actors were sentenced to jail. Sutherland was sentenced to 48-day behind bars, while Collins has to spend 4 days imprisonment.
