Sealing years of her sexuality's rumor, Jodie Foster allegedly opens up about her sexual preference. According to reports, 'The Brave One' star made the revealing statement when she thanked Cydney Bernard during a speech at the ceremony of Hollywood Reporter's Women in Entertainment on Tuesday (04.12.07).
Accepting her Sherry Lansing Leadership Award, the 45-year-old actress gave out her thanks to Bernard saying, "My beautiful Cydney who sticks with me through all the rotten and the bliss." On that occasion, she also revealed her insecurities despite her success in the industry. She said, "I don't feel very powerful."
She then added, "I feel fragile ... unsure, struggling to figure it all out, trying to get there even though I'm not sure where there is. I've been working in this business for 42 years and there's no way you can do that and not be as nutty as a fruitcake."
Though the reason behind her decision of opening up has yet been known, a friend of the 'Silence of the Lamb' actress gave out hint stating, as quoted by Daily Mail, "I think Jodie just wanted to thank one of the most important people in her life. She wants to be treated like everybody else and has been in movies long enough not to be unduly worried about the effect it's going to have on her career."
Reportedly, Foster met Bernard in 1993 on the set of 'Sommersby' and they have been involved for more than 15 years. It was also said that the two of them raised Foster's two sons, a nine-year-old Charles and a six-year-old Kit, at their Malibu home.
