Speeding, Pitbull Arrested for DUI

Caught speeding at almost twice the legal limit, Pitbull was arrested. According to an arrest report, the Latino rapper was booked at 3:14 AM on Friday (21.12.07) in Miami with driving under the influence charges.

The man whose real name is Armando C. Perez was stopped by the Miami-Dade Police when he was driving a silver Mercedes-Benz at 93 mph in a 55 miles per hour zone. Following the stopping of the car, the police then asked the hip hop star to exit the vehicle but initially he failed to do it. At some point when the police requested him to leave the car, the 26-year-old rapper reportedly asked, "Come on, papo - what's up?"

Further, the arresting police officer noted that after he exited his car, he detected a strong odor of alcohol over the gum Pitbull was chewing. He also noticed Pitbull's bloodshot and watery eyes and also his slurred speech. But, when asked whether he had been drinking and asked to do the field sobriety test, he failed and thus was arrested.

Further, when under police custody, the 'rapper that was featured on Lil Jon & The East Side Boyz's album 'Kings of Crunk' refused to do Breathalyzer test. Reportedly, he was later released on 1,000 dollars bail.

Concerning the arrest of a rapper who had just released 'The Boatlift' last November, his legal representative, Angela N. Martinez, P.A. Said, "With respect to Armando Perez' [Pitbull] arrest this morning, this is to inform you that Mr. Perez will be pleading not guilty to all charges. This is all the unfortunate result of a misunderstanding. Mr. Perez and his legal team are confident that these charges will not be upheld."
