Ashlee Simpson and Pete Wentz Aren't Engaged, Though Sporting Ring

Seen sporting a ring on her engagement finger, Ashlee Simpson sparked rumor that she is engaged to her rocker boyfriend, Pete Wentz. However, the rumor quickly toned down by the 23-year-old singer's representative as her rep told People, "She is not engaged!".

Reportedly, the inseparable couple spent the holiday in Texas at the Simpson family home before then celebrating New Year's Eve at Miami's Shore Club in Florida. It was at the latter place that the "Pieces of Me" singer was caught on camera showed off her latest item of jewelery.

Earlier, Simpson's boyfriend confessed about his love for her saying, "I love Ashlee. She's amazing. She's my best friend." He also told People about what he thinks about their relationship confessing, "We're past the honeymoon period. The truth is, it's crazy to be able to kiss your best friend. It's just a really awesome thing." The couple has been dating since September 2006.
